Tango: Parada and Barrida Sequences (Int./ Adv.Level)

Parada is “stop” in Spanish. Most often the leader stops the followseither on cross steps or open steps. There are many foot games one can play andallow a vast array of embellishments. Barrida means sweep or a sweepingmotion. Most often it is done by one partner's foot sweeping and placing itwithout losing contact. It too can start and finish from cross steps oropen steps. Together, Parada and barrida bring out a lot of possibilities toyour dancing. They are fun, easy and very cool to do on the dance floor
