Intermediate Tango Class with Greg & Blair (Level 2)

Building on the foundations of walking, connection, and basic vocabulary, Level Two dives into the most fundamental and versatile element of Tango: the Giro (turn). The giro opens the door to dynamic movement, musical interpretation, and creative improvisation. Students will explore changes of direction, circular and linear movement, and how to smoothly combine elements while maintaining balance, clarity, and connection. This class emphasizes technique, timing, and flow, giving dancers the tools to feel confident and expressive on the social dance floor.

This level is typically studied over six months to one year, allowing dancers the time needed to refine technique, build consistency, and comfortably integrate these movements into social dancing.

• The structure and technique of the Giro (turn)

• Circular and linear navigation

• Sacadas and barridas

• Smooth changes of direction

• Integrating turns with walking and crosses

• Developing fluidity, musicality, and improvisation

Prerequisite:
Students must have completed Level One, taken an Intro to Tango series within the last two months, or have instructor permission.
