No partner is required for most Argentine tango classes and drop-in lessons in Cincinnati. Instructors regularly rotate partners during class so solo beginners and experienced dancers alike can learn comfortably.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and shoes with smooth leather or suede soles that allow you to pivot without sticking to the floor. Clean socks or low-traction flats work great for your first beginner class.
A tango class offers structured instruction from a teacher. A practica is an informal practice session where dancers work on steps and ask questions in a relaxed setting. A milonga is a traditional Argentine tango social dance evening.
